Treat Yourself with an All Inclusive Jamaican Getaway

There comes a point in all vacation planning where a line is drawn... it's the line between entertainment and economics. Individuals, couples and families all have budgets to consider and sometimes those budgetary constraints conflict with the reason you take a vacation in the first place - to have fun without worry. You may benefit all the way around by taking an all-inclusive resort vacation than by trying to penny-pinch a bare bones trip, even if the destination you choose is somewhat exotic.

The idea behind the all inclusive resort vacation is to spare the traveler the bothersome worry of minding the overall vacation budget while on the trip. You plan your trip and pay for it up front. This means a lot less bean-counting while you're supposed to be enjoying your vacation. The money you carry with you on the trip serves to enhance a trip that already includes most costs.

While there is some variation in exactly what all is included in these resort packages, most all inclusive resort vacations include air fare, transfers, accommodations, main meals, and some form of entertainment provided by the resort. This means that once the traveler has paid for the trip, all that's really required to enjoy it is to get on the plane (or cruise ship) and go...

The Caribbean is a veritable boom town of all inclusive resorts, with major resort chains competing wildly for the best beaches, the best cuisine, the most relaxing spa treatments, the best water sports, and so on. Some resorts specialize in relaxation and detoxifying your mind and spirit. Others specialize in non-stop parties and entertainment. Still others specialize in adventure and water sports. It's up to you to find the all inclusive package that best suits your needs, but rest assured, there's something out there for everyone.

By most accounts, the king of the Caribbean all inclusive resorts is Grand Lido Negril in Jamaica. Situated on 22 acres of gorgeous beachfront, Grand Lido Negril is one of two Superclub AAA Four-Diamond award-winning resorts on Jamaica. Elegant and polished, this is where you go to be truly pampered in singular surroundings. The resorts features several styles of restaurant to suit every taste - everything from award-winning French cuisine to no-worry Jamaican jerk chicken. Complimentary room service is 24-hour here and you'll find food and drink available around the clock.

A stay at the Grand Lido also includes free access to a wide range of water sports, including free skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, sailing, and even free scuba lessons. They also offer glass-bottom boat tours if you don't want to get wet but still want to see what the bright blue Caribbean has to offer. Other on-site sports include tennis, volleyball, croquet, bicycling, table tennis, and aerobics, as well as a complete fitness center. They employ a full staff of professional instructors to get you going, so you don't have to be an expert when you get there.

When it comes to luxury, Grand Lido excels. You're greeted with a Champagne Check-in at the lobby and you have the option to enjoy a Champagne sunset cruise on boar the 147 ft private yacht, M/Y Zein, which was the honeymoon yacht for Princess Grace and Prince Ranier of Monaco. How often can you say you got to dine on a yacht that was given to a prince from Aristotle Onasis? All 210 rooms are suites - junior or full, and all have either a balcony or a patio. There's really no such thing as a "bad" room at Grand Lido, but the luxury suites do feature private Jacuzzi baths.

As with all Superclubs world-class resorts, everything is included in the price of your stay and tipping is not allowed. So your meals, your entertainment, your drinks, even your dry-cleaning and laundry, is included. They dub their resorts as "Super Inclusive." And if you have some frequent-flyer miles you want to use up, you can book "resort only" stays and handle your own air fare. They're very accommodating.
